How to Make Your Perfume Oil Last All Day

August 04, 2026

Undiluted perfume oils are already the longest-lasting way to wear fragrance because there's no alcohol or water to evaporate. But in Abuja's heat, a few small habits make a big difference.

1. Moisturise first

Fragrance clings to oil, not to dry skin. Apply an unscented lotion or a little shea butter, then dab your oil on top. This alone can double how long a scent stays.

2. Hit your pulse points

Wrists, the base of the throat, behind the ears and the inner elbows are warm spots that gently push scent through the day. Don't rub your wrists together — it crushes the top notes.

3. Layer with a matching body scent

A white musk oil under a stronger scent like Royal Oud gives it something to hold onto and softens the projection beautifully.

4. Store it away from heat and light

Keep your bottle out of direct sun and away from windows. Oils stay true for much longer in a cool, dark drawer.
